and after it has baked over night and dry, we move to flatting and polishing. not many body shops go this far with it. normally you get a light rub down and buff with a machine

this is flatted to the point its 100% flat and all my hand. fist with 1500 wet and dry the 2000. the whole car is done, not just the big areas

in the post above , you can seel in the 2nd last picture where its nor perfectly flat. this is why it has top be done to get the smooth like glass finish

which then look like this.....

that last picture is after only 2 passes with a polishing mop. the car had 2 passes by the end of the day, then aftet final final fittng its done once again with "glaze" to enhance the colour and give it real depth and a wet look, ready for waxing

all parts that were ordered for the car are as follows

new front screen, front scrren rubber and chrome trim, rear screen rubber and chrome trip, rear bumper rubber, front bumper rubbers, bumper garket, fog light mounts, bumper fitting kit, fog lights, front kidney grills, chrome trims for the doors and window frames complete with gaskets and window seals, airial, door handle gaskets, sunroof seals, rear light rubbers/seal (inner and outer) rear pannel trim, lots of fitting clips screws bolts etc, new badges and new number plates. the only thing i didnt order ( yet ) are the door rubbers, i have a good used set to use, but if i'm not happy i'll get new ones ( at £500 for the pair i'll just wait for a bit).

i dont think it will be ready for gaydon, as i'm waitng on the 2 C pillar trims to arrive from germany as they are back ordered......

a big thanks goes to the Berry chiswick lads for their help. ( formely HR owen/park west/MLG's) they originally supplied the car and sold it to my dad in 1989

i really wish that it was ready for gaydon today, but hey. there's always other meets and shows.

just gives me time now to get the other things done, like trim work and some mechanicals, and a few other jobs that are bugging me
